Letter From The President Of Divine World College

Dear Friends,

May I wish you all a joyous and blessed New Year! During the "Year of the Buffalo" may God bless you with inner peace, good health, family harmony and much prosperity. As we celebrate here at Divine Word College, we will be remembering all of you in our prayers and Masses.

Every college or seminary can look back in its history to critical moments and most important events. A most important moment in the history of Divine Word College was the arrival in 1975 of our first six Vietnamese seminarians. Who recognized then the importance of this seemingly small event to the whole future of Divine Word College and the Divine Word Missionaries in the United States? If no one else did, we can be sure God did.

Divine Word CollegeGod has greatly enriched us during these past 22 years by the presence of our Vietnamese seminarians. Twenty-eight Vietnamese Divine Word Missionaries, 14 ordained priests and 14 members in temporary vows, undertook their studies here in the U.S. Ten Vietnamese novices are preparing to profess their first vows later this year. Eighty-five Vietnamese seminarians are here at Divine Word College studying English and completing their baccalaureate degrees. How generous God has been to us!
